Grooming

Grooming isn’t just for show dogs.  Responsible pet ownership means keeping your dog clean and tidy as well as happy and healthy.  Grooming sessions should also be a time to check your dog over for any potential problems.  These can be anything, ranging from parasites, skin or ear problems, to more serious threats to your dog’s health, for example tumours.  If you do find anything, especially lumps that you have not felt before, have them checked out by your vet.  I know from experience as a professional groomer, that a lot of owners do not check their dogs regularly and we are often the first people to find something is wrong.  Remember, early detection of some conditions may save your dog’s life.  Grooming also gives you ‘quality time’ with your dog, the chance to bond and cement your relationship.
